RecommendedThis is a great place to hike. If you just want an easy walk , there are flat trails for that. If you want to step it up a bit, plenty of hills . The best part for me- it’s close to central Peoria, but you feel like you aren’t in the city. When it’s hot & humid, the shade is plentiful here. 👍

A beautiful gem in Central Illinois! I've lived here my whole life and just now visited at age 30. Wish I would've known about it sooner, it was a peaceful, gorgeous hike and easy to drive to the park. Definitely will be returning!
This place feels like a second home! As a homeschooling family, we love how FPNC is a naturally resource, but their homeschool classes have been our favorite naturalist courses in the area. The staff just gets kids. Their bird ID station is a lot of fun to use, too! We could sit and watch the birds all day...well my daughter could :)
