I recently purchased a new Fonz Z-Series 'scooter'. It is a beast! Fast and smooth acceleration and sits on 100km/hr. I am in regional NSW so a lot of the roads are 70km/hr and it accelerates up those hills as fast as I like. It is a great bike and I love it. I just take it for a ride sometimes as I enjoy it so much! My only negative thing is that for me travelling fairly hard at 70km/hr plus a 5km 100km/hr stretch that it never gets near the 100km range - closer to 60 or 70 when I ride it hard.
After 7.5 years and 48,000 km I traded my old Fonzi for a new Z-series. I had high expectations and the old scootie exceeded every single one, particularly in terms of reliability and joy of riding. Amazingly, the Z-series is even faster and with the plug 2 connector any range anxiety is gone. I am so much looking forward riding it.
I had a good experience with Fonz. We have our bike from them, which we love, and they helped with a fix to my helmet recently. However, I do suggest just going to the shop to speak with the team - from experience, the workshop is very difficult to get hold of via phone. Customer service in person is much better.
Do not buy this bike. After four years of ownership, the battery on mine had degraded to a 10km range and failed in live traffic on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. No shoulder, no safe stop, cars passing within feet. A four-year-old vehicle should not put its rider in that situation. The company's response made it worse. Their first move was to quote $315 to collect and diagnose the bike. BUYER BEWARE When I first bought my Arthur 2+ in 2021 I was excited and positive, just like the many reviews in here. The concept of the business is excellent, the bikes look great, and Fonz are quick to get your sale. That's where the love bombing ends. Over the past 5 years it's a different story. Never before have I encountered an organisation as dishonest, disorganised and incompetent as Fonz. I will be surprised is they stay solvent.
