Focus 1st came highly recommended to me from a friend and I was not disappointed! The classes were a bit of a drive for me but were definitely worth it. I took the CPL course in September 2016 and the Level 1 tactical training course in spring of 2017. JP was the instructor for both courses. He's excellent at explaining things, patient, and has real life experiences (not just classroom) to support everything he teaches. I highly recommend Focus 1st Firearms Training. You won't find a better overall value or instructor.

JP is one the greatest human beings I've come to know. Aside from his.professionalism and knowledge of firearms in every aspect, you couldn't ask for a better person to teach, train or mentor you on what you NEED to know. JP is an exceptional guy, and if not for him I would have feared handguns. He's the guy you want training you I would never choose another. I have the utmost respect for him and what he does.
I took my CPL with JP and could not have been happier with my experience. We only had 3 people, and he did not cancel the class and even stayed after to answer questions. No doubt JP is an elite shooter/trainer and taught with a level of passion I have never experienced. He is a true patriot that donates the proceeds from his courses to charities. He shot 2x2 inch target with his eyes closed!!! I literally left feeling like a better person. Do your self a favor and take a course with JP at Focus First Firearms.
I took both the CPL and tactical class with JP and can't imagine anyone being be a better more qualified instructor. He is very passionate about getting his students to learn properly. He gets 5 stars!!
I taken my CPL classes and jp was very informative about the laws and made sure you understand what they were. Also jp made sure clients that never held a firearm he made it comfortable holding and firing at the range. I tell all my friends and family to take jp classes they will not be disappointed.
I took my CPL a few years back, JP, is very passionate both in the classroom and on the range. He is very patient, knowledgeable. spending time teaching everyone at their retention level. I would like to take his advanced classes someday. Great instructor, recommend to my family and friends.
