I’ve been a student of Mrs Heise for a couple years now, she has a great understanding of music and also has a great way of explaining her skills to her students with various analogies and stories. I’ve grown a lot through her and enjoy my weekly lessons.
Our daughter began flute lessons with Eileen Heise her sophomore year in high school. Her skills improved significantly to the point of her becoming first flute in her high school symphonic band. Eileen worked with her on piccolo as well, culminating in giving her the confidence to perform the solo in Stars and Stripes Forever in her final high school concert. I studied under Mrs. Heise for 9 years, from 4th grade until I graduated high school. Having gone through Glenn Westlake and Glenbard East, there was very high expectations being a member of the band. Mrs. Heise always had me prepared for auditions and helped with any music I found difficult. We had Eileen play flute at our wedding on the beach and it was perfect!! She was a joy to work and made the entire process so easy from helping us pick the perfect music to planning out when and where she should be playing. We were thrilled with the music she helped us choose and excited we didn't have to figure out how to get electricity and an amplifier onto the beach for a guitar or soloist. My son, Scott, took flute lessons with Eileen while he was in grade school. Scott learned so much about the flute and about the discipline of practice while he was taking the flute lessons. His music skills increased a lot. He participated in recitals and public performances with Eileen. These experiences had a positive effect on him and gave him confidence to speak in front of groups. Eileen is a wonderful teacher, who loves music!
