RecommendedI would like to give a HUGE thank you to Dr. Schrodt and Kim and the radiology and lab department at FCMC. Last year I had very bad pneumonia. I started to not feel well last week and it got progressively worse over the weekend. I called at around 8:15am and was told to come right in and he would squeeze me in. In under 2 hours I was seen by Dr. Schrodt twice and had an X-ray, bloodwork and a throat culture done AND results given to Dr. Schrodt. RecommendedJust completed therapy through the hospital and everyone from Troy to all the staff were so nice and friendly. We have a great physical therapy department that I feel is the best of the best. Once again let’s support our local hospital.

RecommendedThe surgical staff is amazing! Such kindness and care. Today was a quick procedure but I’ve never had anesthesia before so I may have been a little nervous. Everything was explained by nurses to anesthesiologist to Dr. VanGilder and the process went perfectly. For one reason or another, we have used the Floyd County Medical Center several times in the last couple of years and I love that we have a hospital in Charles City. We are very fortunate.

RecommendedMy wife just gave birth to our son Finn, on Sunday, March 3rd. The staff, Doctors, and nurses were all beyond amazing. Just so helpful, patient, knowledgeable, and taking their time to make sure our every question and need was met. I would recommend any expecting parents to take advantage of the amazing staff and facilities the Floyd County Medical Center has to offer.
RecommendedI had my gallbladder removed yesterday. Dr. Van Gilder and her team were beyond awesome! Kim Frein in the admission was so nice and very approachable. Nurse Lisa, Robin, Cynthia, Shane, Cindy, Alli, Heather and the others were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. I sent my husband home and told him to come pick me up when surgery is done because I knew that I was in good hands. 10 stars and highly recommended!

EDIT: This issue was addressed soon after my original post. Kudos to Viva for her diligence. I only say this as we took my grandmother out to the ER this morning and when my mom and I walked in, the receptionist in the ER was extremely rude sounding. She asked what we wanted in a rude tone, my mom told her they just brought her mother in, receptionist said rudely "go have a seat", then a few minutes later, again in a rude tone said "one of you can come back". Her name is Carol.
