Racism at its worst, as a pregnant black patient when i spoke to black staff members they made me feel at ease and understood my concerns and symptoms they listened and offered solutions. It’s truly shameful that so many advent health locations have sprung up, staffed with nurses and staff who are simply unable to perform their jobs. Having a large facility and claiming a lack of necessary tools is unsettling. It’s never acceptable to visit a prenatal appointment with high hopes only to leave feeling disappointed and like you’re the one who’s crazy. Went to this practice for both of my pregnancies and have nothing but amazing things to say. Everyone is kind, considerate and makes effort to build relationship over the course of the many, many visits throughout my pregnancies. Jessica R. especially went above and beyond to care for me and my boys, always making me feel heard. I genuinely miss getting to see everyone’s faces from the front check in desk to the nurses to the midwives.
I’ve been a high risk Obgyn patient since I was 14 years old and this was the first Obgyn that I’ve been to in 10 years that has dismissed my issues and never given me high-quality care. I never saw a provider that took my concerns seriously. They refused to do testing and have misdiagnosed my condition all because of lack of care, lack of experience, and lack of compassion.
