The worst state I’ve ever attempted to obtain a nursing license in. I was in the process of looking for a lawyer to pursue litigation on the grounds of impeding livelihood. “30-45 day processing time” turned into 90 days and suspension from my job due to exceeding a 60 day grace period. It turned into 15 phone calls, sitting on hold for over 20 total hours (occasionally sitting on hold for an hour just for the phone call to end before anybody answered.) If i could give ZERO stars I would. I have filed paper app, which is absolutely ridiculous and when I called to follow up my app over a week later they said they still had not received it. I have spent 3-4 hours on hold to get very inept and incorrect answers. Editing to say that I just spoke with Izzy and that’s the most helpful person that I’ve interacted with during the past 7 months. I applied for my autonomous license in January. It is now August 20 and it is still not processed! I have emailed and called countless times. I’ve been on hold for hours before being hung up on without any assistance. I would give a -0 review if it was an option. I graduated from Nursing school in Florida, passed the board exam of that time and was licensed in 1975. I moved to California in 1988 and still have an active license there. I moved back to Florida in April 2025 and the Florida State Board denied my application. If I could, I would give them a zero. Their licensing process is unclear, and their website is equally confusing. It’s virtually impossible to get in touch with a human being. I’ve been waiting for five months to obtain my advanced practice license, even though I’ve been licensed in another state since 1998. There has been no communication from them at all.
