We had a party of 10. The waitress was nice but the food was mediocre at best. Wings but no celery, sweet potatoe over cooked, steak over cooked, pitiful house salads with iceberg lettuce. The check was $25.00 higher than it should have been. Luckily, the host added it up in his head and had them correct it. My advice is to go somewhere else if you are looking for a great salad and steak.

Bad Service – Hi, My husband and I visited this restaurant tonight, I have always been a huge fan of flatrock. But my experience was less than poor. We were seated and were treated pretty well, but then as people started coming in we were treated as if we weren't important at all. The family behind us was addressed with mam and sir and thank yous. My Tea was never refilled even after I asked for a refill, when she asked if we were ready for our check. She handed us our check and the people behind us at the same time. She han... read more

Furman famlies love Flat Rock – We are now bringing our second daughter to Furman (2011). Every time we come to Greenville we visit Flat Rock Grille. It doesn't matter if we come in the fall, winter or spring (to visit our daughter) the food and service has always been great. I say this because we know it is not a national chain and we think that is why they are soooo good. The servers really are the BEST and they always accommodate our special needs. Try the layered salmon, tuna or prime rib. As far as the comment below....... read more

Flat Rock Grille - at Cherrydale – As we waited for our appetizer to arrive, we noticed an extremely large (although dead) bug staring down on us. Ok, we can handle it. It's dead, afterall. But that wasn't the only thing. The table was extremely sticky and dirty. (Could have been used as a roach trap, it was so sticky!) Potato skins were over-cooked. Meal arrived, fries were tasteless and dry. Same with the rice. Filets were pretty good, but one was a little overcooked in areas (nothing to really complain about - they were g... read more

Excellantay – We travel all over and find this to be a good restaurant to stop in and visit on the way home. As we live in Charleston we can atest to the good seafood instead of the frozen junk that most national chains have. Life is good and their food makes it better.

excellent food--excellent service – The staff and food were excellent. I travel throughout the SE and think they have some of the best food. We visit the location on North Pleasantburg. I have been to the low country where they advertise that they have good "shrimp and grits". Their "Shrimp and Grits" were awesome. They have other good food too, but this is good stuff.

Friendly Service, Bad Food – We ordered the fried fish sandwich and the grilled tuna special. My friend loved his sandwich - the portion was amazing - almost 3 filets on a bun. I ordered the tuna and was told it was suchi grade and I could order it rare - I did, with the Caeser and slaw. The fried food was fine, but the tuna was well-done, not rare, and tasted like rubber. The slaw tasted like candied cabbage. My friend really enjoyed the fries. This is a poor excuse for seafood. I suggest you walk about 100 yards over to th... read more

Great seafood – The food is great. Service can be a bit inconsistent at times, but it is rarely bad. The blackened tilapia with lobster cream sauce is very, very good. The shrimp and crab dip appetizer is also quite good. For dessert, they have several selections including a brownie with a whole Hershey bar melted on top, a huge piece of peanut butter pie, and cheesecake sent to them from Carnegie Deli. I would give it a 9 out of 10. I can only speak for the Cherrydale branch, however.
