I was born at Fitzsimmons in 1947. My Dad was stationed there as he was learning how to be a Hospital Administrator in the Army. I weighed 4 lbs six ounces. I was six weeks early and they put me in a relatively new gadget called an incubator for six weeks. My parents were not allowed to touch me (just how they believed then). I turned out just great but was small for my age.

Was born there in 1962 and had along stay as I had several thing wrong with me .
My Dad was the engineer in charge of the hospital in the mid to late sixties. He was a colonel and we lived on base. This was during the height of the Viet Nam war. Many of the injured soldiers ended up at Fitzsimmons. It was an incredible hospital for amputees and brain injuries. I was in my teens and it really made me grow up to see these young men that had the most horrific injuries; they weren’t much older than me.
