About two months ago, I joined SF Fitness because it’s the only gym in my area with a swimming pool. Even though the membership costs over $100 per month, and I knew I would only be able to use it a few times each month due to my schedule, I decided it was still worth joining so I could swim. I've been working out here for about 3 months now. I quite like the gym! It is good value and expansive. The staff are also generally friendly and welcoming which I really appreciate! I have only two real qualms, in order of importance. 1. The showers and broader locker room area can smell like shit sometimes; not bad, like actual feces. Latest update as of 7/26/26: In the past year or so, the temperature in this gym is consistently uncomfortably warm. Not only is it unpleasant to exercise in a hot environment, this causes the smell of others to be amplified. In what is basically a basement with no ventilation, having proper AC is a must. I’ve complained about this before at the front desk but unsure of why it’s always so hot in here. At least, they could provide deodorant so others don’t ruin it for everyone else. Well maintained facilities. However, the lane reservation system was way better than what they have today. It’s now impossible to get a lane sometimes. Besides, parts of the gym, such as the only straight pull up bar in the gym, are made completely inaccessible when classes are taking place. Two of the instructors, Morey and Sherrif, rudely kicked me out of the room when I was minding my own business doing pull ups and not disrupting anyone in the room.
I am very annoyed with faculties perform vacuuming 1 -2 hrs before gym closing. The vacuum is so loud and the vaccum wires are serious tripping risks. Why cannot the faculty perform cleaning after gym closure like years ago? Sign...
