I repeat! Do not join fitness connection!!!! It is going to be my mission from today to let people know how scam is fitness connection!!!! They claim to be super cheap, but they have you sign for random fees. They over charged by card, and when I called corporate, a rude woman kept giving attitude about me "trying to get out of paying." They are extremely rude and awful. They tried to make me pay fees of the following month even after I cancelled. Save your money and time. Beware.
Not a stable fitness club I doubt that Fitness Connection will stay in business for much longer. They heavily rely on people paying for the membership but not using it to alleviate the costs for the people who actually use it. I'm pretty sure their members/active member ratio is ridiculous and they are making money on a lot of people simply because they don't mind paying the $10 a month just because it's cheap or they simply don't know how to cancel it. Stay away! They lure you in with cheap prices and gimmicks but won't let you cancel your membership without *mailing* them a certified letter. It's 2013, the only possible reason for such a policy is to scam people into paying for services not rendered. I canceled my membership 13 months ago and I'm still being charged. My experience isn't the only one, I posted to facebook 5 minutes ago and found out that this happened to 3 other people. I'm getting robbed. Obviously this company doesnt care! All they want is money, money, money!! I have been continually charged late fees cause they said I dont uave money on my account buy for no reason all of sudden my card works when Im charged with late fees? They have been doing that since the beginning and in order for them to reverse the charges is to provide them a print out of your account that shows it has funds! That exactly what happened to me.
I hated this gym. I paid $30 a month to swim laps in a FREEZING pool with wild 12 year old monsters under no supervision. The staff is unprofessional, a good chunk of the members are ghetto, and a lot of the members don't speak a lick of English. And, after reading another comment prior to mine, I agree that the place is a bit dirty and very few of the members use towels (health hazard anyone?) if you ask them to cancel an account they will not. They make you go through the act of congress to cancel the account and then a year later still will take money out of your account. I canceled my account on Oct of 2007 and are still arguing with the manager and cooperate office to STOP TAKING MONEY OUT!!!!!!!! I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!
