We came here for the award-winning gumbo, which was great; but OMG. best shrimp and grits on the planet!
My husband and I took a special trip to eat here. The shrimp and corm chowder was just okay, the corn was tough and the shrimp was just farm raised. The onions rings were good. The entree of shrimp and girts were horrible. The grits were a softball of fried grits, the shrimp were obviously farm raised, the sauce was swimming in the sauce. My husband had three shrimp that still had the shell on them. We complained to the waitress. She went to the manager/chef who said, "we order them shelled". No apology, no compensation. Our first time and we had salmon and crab cake Benedict. Wonderful meal and great service. Tyler is a great server. Bread pudding is so good and so sinful. Best I have ever had. We will be back
Showed up for brunch on Sunday at 1:25, was advised they ran out of grits and eggs and they were closed. I said what if we want something other than grits and eggs, sorry closing mam. Frustrating part is that I called prior to arriving. Perhaps they should change operating hours or properly advise customers.
