Lovely Evening – This is a beautiful restaurant and the food and service is top-notch. It is great to see this area of King Street come alive. We were visiting from NY and had several excellent meals in Charleston and our meal at Fish was a highlight.
Nothing Special – My wife had the swordfish and I had the grouper. High quality seafood, cooked to perfection, but that was it, "cooked fish". No special toping or sauce, no imagination. The sides were nothing special as well. Quantities were adequate, but a little on the light side for the price and the city. I will probably never go back, there are better places.
Wonderful overall experience – Outstanding service, outstanding fish - kudos to the "naked fish of the day." You expect to find fresh fish in Charleston but the naked fish on the menu far exceeds any expectations you have for the city. Very personal staff and romantic ambiance. The scallops with caramelized onions were delicious...as was the Penefold's 20-year tawny port. In general, fish is definitely the restaurant's specialty. OUTSTANDING IN ALL AREAS – We used to live in Charleston, so after going to the same old "haunts" everytime we came back, I wanted something new to try. We went to Fish. Out of this world!! From the time we were greeted, to the end of the meal it was great.
