I've used First Gear Garage a few times now, and every time has been an excellent experience. Whether I'm changing the struts on my Subaru or changing the oil (when I REALLY don't want to lay on the garage floor!), the staff is always friendly and shop is super clean and well lit. I've recommended First Gear Garage to all my friends!
This is such a wonderful place! The staff is extremely helpful if you have a problem or question.
I opted for DIY with assistance, and did my first brake work since the late '70s. Ben, the mechanic, was very helpful and patient as he explained and demonstrated every step. The shop is very clean, well lit, and well organized. Everyone was committed to making sure the work went smoothly and safely. Not only did I save a pile of money, I also had a lot of fun. I will be going back to do some more work that I have been reluctant to do myself in the past, such as shocks and struts.
Yes, it IS a great place to take your car and it is EXTREMELY hard to find an honest mechanic but these guys are. Only one problem, years ago I found a different honest mechanic and everybody kept giving him rave reviews. I am sure you can figure out what eventually happened. Right, the guy got so much business that the only way you can get in is schedule a WEEK ahead of time and even then, he still can't get your car done on time.
