We have had a very disappointing experience with FirstBank. Communication has been poor, and compared to other banks we work with, the process has been unnecessarily difficult. In two separate situations involving two different businesses, FirstBank required us to put up additional collateral to keep loans in place, even though we did not feel it was necessary, given our overall collateral position and how other banks have handled similar relationships with us. My husband and I reside in Murfreesboro, TN. We took our children out shopping on July 4th in Nashville. To our shock both of our cards, which are tied to his First bank account, were declined despite having plenty of money in his account. We were unable to reach anyone due to it being a holiday. When I finally spoke with a customer service rep the following Saturday they were only able to tell me that his card had been reported stolen, canceled, and a replacement was being sent somewhere. Stopped in because all I had was $100. Bill and Pizza Hut wouldn't take it for my lunch. Ask them if I could get change for it but apparently since I'm not an account holder there and they can't do it. Big corporations with food policies like this are unacceptable in my book. This is Tennessee. Do the southern thing and cash somebody's $100 bill when they have one. I will never be an account holder there
