My car turned out not to be worth fixing, but I was able to make that decision after a mechanic explained to me in granular detail what was wrong, and what were the options for repair. They didn't charge me for diagnosis, and allowed me to spend the night in the parking lot at my request. They seem to be good, honest folks. Would recommend.
