Worse customer service! – First off let me say that this place has changed a lot since I was here last. It used to be a restaurant that had good food and was a nice place to go with a large group. Fast forward to tonight, I made reservations here to celebrate my birthday with 12 friends and going to Fire Place Inn was a HUGE mistake! Fireplace Inn has excellent ribs Awesome ribs!! The inside atmosphere is divided into two sides - one side is a bar and the other is more of a traditional sit down restaurant. The sit down restaurant side has a little bit of an older feel to it and is not as fun. But the ribs are some of the best in the city.
Awesome Old Town establishment – Open for over 40 years, this restaurant and bar combo has been passed down amongst family members since it's inception. There is NOTHING as toxic as their giant Vodka lemonades. I am fairly certain their "medium" is a 32 ounce monster. And their large is, well, larger. Very disappointing – We have ordered from Fireplace Inn more than once and generally enjoy it. It is expensive take-out but something different. The ribs are very tender. This last time however, we placed three orders. We were told it would take an hour and they were there promptly. Unfortunately, they only had 2 of the 3 orders. When we called to tell them they had forgotten one order they said they would send it right out. It took 65 minutes! By then we had shared what food we had and had cleaned up. Excellent Food and Service. Staff is friendly the homemade BBQ sauce is the best that I have ever tasted. Love it The have a location in Frankfort as well and it is just as good
Overpriced but good food – The food here is good, but not anything special. I was a little perturbed at the fact that I was paying $30.00 for a steak, and yet the wine was served to me in a plastic cup.... How 'bout a wine glass for goodness sake! My husband had a good meal also, but again was served a guiness beer in a plastic cup. Not the classiest of places, but just ok... Service was nothing to write home about, but the place was really busy with St. Patrick's day revelers.....
Best Ribs ,,Best sport viewing ,Best service ,,,Best and Biggest Vodka Lemonades – I live in the nieghborhood ,,Been a customer for years!! They have overr thirty plasmas ,,They have great attentive service and wonderful food ,I would recommend this 30 year plus restaurant to anyone ,, Don't forget to have a 32 oz vodka lemonade.....
Horrible Service – Don't waste your time or money. I have never experienced such horrible service. Employees in a drive through are more helpful and cheerful than this place. Not to mention the food wasn't worth the money you would spend in a drive through.
Ridiculously overpriced grub. – Are you kidding me, Fireplace Inn? This place would be great if everything was priced 50% lower. A crappy boneless rib sandwich that barely out-flavors a McRib is $7.50. Yuck. The BBQ chicken doesn't even come close to competing with much cheaper joints like Hecky's or Feed. Burgers are $10 or more, many dishes are over $20. Not. Worth. It. To top it all off, the waiter threw out the fires and mashed potatoes I wanted to take home when I asked him to wrap my meal up.
