I had the worst experience I have ever had at Firebirds-Gaithersburg. My BF and I decided to go there for dinner. We were greeted at the hostess station, and the two hostesses went back and forth about where to seat us. Once they decided, we were shown to our table. The restaurant was not busy at all. I’ve been a longtime customer of this restaurant and have spent a lot of my hard-earned money here over the years because it was always one of my favorites. I always ordered the lobster salmon fondue with mashed potatoes and extra fondue — and I never minded paying extra for that fondue. This time around, my server suggested something different, and I appreciated that suggestion, but he made sure I never got the extra fondue I asked for and was willing to pay for. We’ve been loyal customers of this restaurant for years, but something has clearly changed at this location. Whether it’s a shift in local management or a new company policy, the quality has noticeably declined—cheaper cuts of meat, higher prices, and overall disappointing food.
