Best Dining Out Experience in Years! – I haven't had a dining experience like this in quite some time. Everything from the decor and environment to the service, food and price was exceptional!! Our experience started off right with Black Diamond Martinis, a unique vodka infused pineapple treat for your taste buds! The meal continued with a lobster spinach queso dip unlike any other appetizer. Be sure to try this unique spin on spinach dip but be sure to save room for the main course. The menu was amazing and left us wanting ... read more
Avoid Friday and Saturday Nights – On a recent Saturday evening, I had planned to have dinner at Firebird's in Stonecrest. When I called ahead for reservations at 5:30pm, I was informed that reservations are not taken. The individual taking the call indicated, however. that call ahead seating was available. I inquired as to the first available call ahead opening, and was given a slot at 8pm. When I arrived at 7:55 pm and went to the front hostess station, a group of three early 20-something dimwits informed me that there wou... read more
Colorado Rockies cuisine in the Carolinas. – In Short Huge beams evoke a Colorado ski lodge; the open-air kitchen and rotisserie add nice touches. Patrons relax by the massive stone fireplace with a mixed drink or microbrew or dine on upscale steakhouse fare with a Southwest flair. The ranch onion rings are seasoned with pepper panko (Japanese) breadcrumbs, and the Delmonico steak is Chile-rubbed and seared over hardwood flames. The apple crisp is served in a cast-iron skillet and topped with vanilla ice cream.
Lunch - a step up and worth it. – Stopped-in at the new location at the Northlake Mall for lunch. My wife tried Firebirds Chardonnay and the Chicken Penne; I tried the Red and the French Dip. My wife enjoyed the White although the Red was a little too peppery for my taste but there was a sizeable winelist to choose from. Lunch portions were large with enough of the Penne to bring home for the both of us later (plenty of chicken in the dish), the sauce had a subtle spicey bite to it which was good. The French Dip was enough t... read more
Great steaks but don't try the Chicken dishes – If your going for a good steak and don't mind the noise this is one of the best. But if you are a chicken lover stay away. I ordered the chicken casadillas and if there was chicken in them it was microscopic and the cheese they use was like cheese whiz. So I couldn't eat them and asked the waiter if the spicy chiken soup was good and he said yes so I tried it. Again where was the chicken? It tasted just like they scraped the stuff out of the casadillas and put it in a bowl. I w... read more
Disappointing – Firebirds Rocky Mountain Grill is a disappointment. The kitchen is extra loud with the chef's calling orders. The service is slow, especially when it comes to the food be prepared and brought to the table. But once the check comes the waitress is ready to move you on for the next customer. My family and I were disappointed in the restaurant and what you get for your money.
User review by abale – GREAT!!! Great food, great service, great for families! Very consistent...if you do have a problem...they take care of you!!!
Always Great – Firebird's is my favorite restaurant in town. My favorites are the lobster spinach queso appetiver, the chili rubbed delmonico, or the southwest chicken pasta. great bread also. We have never been disappointed every time wev'e eaten here. Get here early on the weekend or be prepared to wait. The food is worth the wait.
a different sort of steakhouse – Firebirds takes the warmth of a rocky mountain ski lodge and combines it with novel food additions to create a fun new experience in Memphis. Additions like buffalo add a lean and different steak and burger choice and even their salads are commendable. Excellent service and golden lighting make this a fine date destination. Overall, I recommend Firebirds for those looking for the steak experience without the stuffiness.
