The yarn selection isn't bad and the employee was helpful at finding yarn for me, but they greenwashed wool yarn by incorrectly stating wool yarn uses less water than cotton (which has been debunked many times, you can see for yourself, Vox has a good article about it for example), and seemed weirdly defensive about it when I all I had asked was where the plant based yarns were. So I could have done without that.

Very expensive, didn’t find what I was looking for and ended up spending a lot of money on an alternative, was encouraged to purchase a cheap hook and “see if it worked for my project” then told when I went back to return it in the unopened package with a receipt, I was told they don’t accept returns on hooks/needles. Tried reaching out to the owner to explain the situation and was told no exceptions. Bummer because I was really excited about a local yarn store so close to where I live.

The staff member that assisted me was incredibly helpful with finding both the correct colors and a better pattern choice for the gift I am making. Large selection, including local yarns, and fun Knick-knacks make for a fun souvenir. A wonderful experience to shop at Firebird!

Firebird Yarns really blew me away today when I went in just to take a look around. I used to knit when I was a kid, but fell off as I got older. As an adult, I've loved relearning the craft and feel ready to commit to more expensive yarn for projects. Coming into the store, I immediately felt welcomed by Phillip behind the counter.
