Do not send your child to her. When I was 13 she tried to tell me my Juvenile Arthritis was all in my head and I really just had “AMPs” pain syndrome. She somehow convinced my parents of it too. She tried to send me to a program at CHOPs that forces kids to do exercises against their will because the doctors there think their pain is all in their head too. Thankfully I convinced my parents not to send me and managed to stay on my medication. I would still be untreated and in pain if I hadn’t switched to another doctor.
Dr. Finkel is a terrible doctor. She does not care about your child.
My oldest daughter (now 21) saw Dr. Finkel at CHOP in Philadelphia for 3-4 years. We live in Wisconsin and my daughter and I would fly there twice a year to get her medical opinion and recommendations. Often they were consistent with our local Pediatric Rheumatologist (who was very good as well), but on a regular basis Dr. Finkel would identify some leading-edge treatment or technique to help my daughter.
