I really don’t understand the hype surrounding this place. I’ve had plenty of barbecue over the years, and even basic barbecue done properly would have been much better than what I was served. Unfortunately, the food, service, and overall experience were all disappointing. I rarely leave reviews this negative, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this place. Halal, delicious, and creative. They are top 100 best restaurant in the bay area and NYT recognized them for a reason. The place was so cute, and most importantly the bathroom was clean and had a BIDET (iykyk)!!! The team were so efficient and professional. I've been wanting to visit forever, and it didn't disappoint! We arrived near opening time with no wait, but there was a line by the time we finished. We shared smoked brisket, smoked ayam lumpia, nasi goreng, rujak slaw, and macaroni goreng—just the right amount for three of us. The brisket was tender, and everything was flavorful, with the slaw providing a nice crunch. I'd definitely return!
This place genuinely had some of the best barbecue meat I’ve ever had. Every cut was unapologetically tender, delicious, and juicy. Would highly recommend the Dino ribs, which were 1.5 lb each. Every piece fell off the bone when we tried lifting it. One very important thing to note is that at 1:30 pm on a Sunday, we had to wait about an hour to get to the front of the line (the line started at the street).
