Customer service is poor. When I just called regarding my existing mortgage I was sent through 3 different departments before getting to who I needed to talk to. Also to use their service online is a HUGE pain because it isn't even on or through their own website. It is some third party who Ameris does not provide a link for. You have to call to figure out what the website is. I hope they sell my mortgage to some other better organized bank soon!
We worked with them on a 60 day closing. For the first 20 days I asked repeatedly about down payment and debt to income requirements, but they either lied to keep us from going to someone else or they are too incompetent to know. For the next 30 days our calls, emails, and office visits were ignored. The last 10 days involved them making hail mary attempts and then begging us to give them another chance.
