My (rootbeer) Shafer is so fun. I immediately noticed it’s snappy responsiveness on singletrack👍. I thought the 55 wide tires would be overkill even though we need fat for florida . i was on 42 prior to purchase. I gotta say its still pretty quick on pavement. I ordered a Shafer Team build and requested a 38t chainring with a 10-52t cassette. I was ensured that this would be done. The bike took approximately 5-6 weeks to arrive (even though the website said 1-2 weeks). When I received the bike, it did not have the 38t chainring, it came with the standard 42t. When I emailed Ari, I was told that the 38t was unavailable, so they installed the 42t. I specifically built this bike for climbing, and the 42t is way too big. I plan on returning the bike.
I’ve been wanting an Ari bike for a while and finally bought the Shafer 3.0 gravel bike. Super awesome sales experience and I appreciate everyone through the process. Can’t rec them enough!
