Poorly Kept - Ripoff May seem life an affordable option, but this complex will end up costing you MUCH MORE $$$ in the long run. All they care about is taking your money, they don't care about your living conditions. I lived here for a year and a half. The apartment was in poor condition when I moved in, which I expected from an apartment with relatively low rent. Avoid River Lake Properties at all costs! – Fernwood Apartments represents everything wrong about post-Katrina New Orleans: unchecked crime, atrocious management, and rampant greed. I lived at several apartments in the New Orleans area, and Fernwood was by far the worst. The buildings and the surrounding neighborhood are in rapid decline, and the absentee management does not seem to care.
