I’ll be brief. Bed side manner was awful. wouldn’t answer questions. staff rushed us. did several echos after at a hospital during an ER visit and then with a new cardiologist. then more echos at hospital for his surgery. all were MUCH longer and more detailed. with every other provider, everyone else who worked with our son was more kind, accommodating, and thorough. his new cardiologist, the ER, and the hospital for surgery were all significantly better experiences. avoid
Wonderful Doctor and efficient office.We have moved south ,but still come back to NJ every year at the Thanksgiving holidays, stay with family,and see Dr Fernandes for our sons annual cardiac exam before heading home. He has had a good heart surgery and is doing well, and we could do this locally,but after how Dr F helped us and looked after our son as a baby,won't be able to trust anyone else as much.
My child has been going to Dr Fernandes for just over13years now, ever since my OB found something wrong with her heart on the first ultrasound. He has been instrumental in why she is doing so well now, he guided us through the most difficult period, made sure we went to the best Cardiac center, and took care of whatever she needed after the surgery . Very happy to have been referred here by my OB. Office was efficient and no wait at all,came in straight from the car --with high Covid precautions here , everything was clean and sanitized.Dr F was thorough and clear , and explained things well--- made me feel comfortable and better--after an anxious time.
Dr Fernandes has taken care of my son since before he was born, when he had an unusual and dangerous heart rate. My son is alive and well because of the high level care from Dr Fernandes. He has been gentle and thorough with us throughout, and every visit to the office over these many years has been a happy and pleasant one. My wife was referred to Dr Fernandez by her OBGYN. We made an appointment and during that appointment the doctor was unable to obtain any clear ultrasounds of the baby's heart. We left the appointment without any results or answers and were still charged full price for the visit when I feel like he should have paid us for wasting our time. I would not recommend going to doctor Fernandez for any reason. Doesn't seem right to be charged for a service we didn't receive.
While Dr. Fernando is brilliant, I question why he works with a patient population of children and parents. He has no ability to relate to either group, so it seems. My baby was scared and distressed at our last visit, and the office staff seemed more concerned that I would infect them with Covid and that I needed to hand over my credit card for the copay. Felt very safe and well taken care of during my recent visit for the Fetal Echo ,my MFM specialist at St Barnabas NJPA sent me here for.I had to wait for a short while in my car till they called me up,while they were cleaning up from the procedure before mine,and once in the office things moved efficiently and smoothly so there were no delays. Awesome care from Dr Fernandes and his office staff,during this trying year with the pandemic.Our baby had a complex heart defect,and Dr Fernandes diagnosed it early,and helped our family plan the next steps,delivery at CHOP,and made sure the team was aware of a rare variation he had seen,and sure enough that was something so important, and all went so well!Very happy to see that he was chosen as one of the two of the very many pediatric cardiologists in NJ to be recognized in the NJ magazine and NJ Family magazines for givi... read more
