Several times I would issue a concern during couples counseling I would be met with a dismissive “Well, why are you with them?” Instead of addressing the issue I had. With my partner echoing “Yeah why are you with me then?” It was an endless cycle of allowing the continuation of stonewalling and emotional abuse instead of taking accountability to move forward.
