OK, people, don’t blame the agent for what the insurance company does or does not do. As far as the actual people, Shawn is a great guy and has worked hard to keep our rates low on cars and home policies. He has had our business for about 10 years. The insurance industry is a scam, we all know that, but at least Shawn does his very best to help you whenever possible.
Shawn is the absolute worse agent I've ever had. Countless times I've contacted him to discuss my policies only to be ignored. As far as the company as a whole, stay clear. I had my first and only homeowners claim recently,(25 years) which was denied. The leaking skylight and roof from October 2020 has caused and continually causes damage. The ceiling tiles are falling and the drywall damage is getting worse. Until we can afford to pay for it out of our pocket the adjuster suggested some caulk. My agent is always there when I need him and so very understanding!!!
Attempted to contact my agent, local sales office, national 800 office, & multiple emails. Never got a response. Tired making a claim on roof damage, the adjuster was also unreachable. I finally canceled car, home owners, & boat coverage in favor of State Farm. The only way to cancel was to make visit the local, Schererville office, and get a cancellation in writing. No one seemed to car! Very poor service at every level!
