Honestly, I should’ve taken one look at her botched lip job and known that attention to detail wasn’t her specialty. It’s shocking that even in 2025, some Pakistani doctors still lack basic bedside manners. I say this as a Pakistani myself. If you have hypothyroidism just avoid going with her. Not taking in consideration clear symptoms of hypothyroidism it’s completely insane for me. Thank god I have had this for over 20 years and have seen the best endocrinologist before her so I just didn’t listen to her advice of lowering my thyroid medication during pregnancy. But telling me my baby is at risk for my high dose meditation when my T4 (the one that crosses the placenta) that is already low for pregnancy I find pretty dangerous.
I dread my appointments with Dr. Yousuf. I have seen her 3-4 times. She is incredibly rude and demeaning. She sneered at my weight when my BMI was slightly over. She dismissed my symptoms and told me that other people had it worse. She also asked me if I went to college (?) and then asked me how much I weighed in high school to compare. I’m 30. Don't waste your time. The Dr will not listen to symptoms, only looks at generic labs, and will assess from those. Does not care about the patient or their symptoms. After waiting 6 months for an appointment, I feel my time has been wasted, my hope for a caring Dr mocked and disheartened in the endocrinology field in Texas. Staff has zero kindness, and basic listening skills are abhorrent.
After seeing Dr. Yusuf for many months at ARC, she never resolved my issues. When I told her the spironolactone wasn’t working after 6 months she said oh it’s because my dose ( she prescribed ) was too low. She refused to increase my dose of metformin from 500mg which was ineffective. She keeps calling me back for more appointments. Only interested in scheduling patients , not treating them.
