I read the reviews but my lawyer said to disregard. I lost my kids to my narcissist spouse who’d been abusing me all these years. She had even fooled the so called expert. He didn’t care
I strongly encourage anyone who has been subject to Dr. Farber’s unethical behavior to contact the Virginia Department of Health Professionals and file a complaint. Dr. Farber must be held publicly accountable for his actions, which reflect negatively on himself and his profession.

I cannot understand how this charlatan is able to keep practicing. I wish a class action could take place. If you have to endure a custody evaluation, please record every session. It is the only way to prove his unethical ways. Under the Virginia law, you are allowed to do so without him knowing you are recording as long as you are a participant in the session. Dr Farber is only motivation is money. Our case had a clear cut parent who was manipulating the court & Farber with false accusations that were denied by the parent & the child /older teen. when the accusations were found to be false by the lengthy &costly Dr Farber ,GAL, & Police Dr Farber never stood up against parent who did all that &was trying to control & alienate the other parent by using the court,police, & false accusations & Farber didn't do anything. Dr Farber did a thorough job and the tools he used to base client parenting skills are scientific, not objective. My divorce is very contentious and my ex was clearly fighting for custody as means to control me. He even has an au pair for the limited time he is with. Actually, there is a lot of research that shows this is common in men (not primary parent). He did a psych eval and diagnosed my ex as narcissist with a personality disorder. He did such a poor job on the custody evaluation for my case and it ultimately made no difference. The judge ignored his testimony (thank god) because he was a hired gun. He was totally biased in favor of my ex because her attorney brought him in and paid 100% of his $46,000 fees. He is a classic narcissist that can be bought. His principal motivator is MONEY. He is fundamentally dishonest and a vile human being.
Warning: If you are in a contentious divorce, Dr. Farber will choose sides. He has that reputation with others in his field in this area. All previous reviews regarding his extreme arrogance and narcissism are dead on accurate. He also has no interest in what's best for the kids. His only interest is doing his psych assessment on the adults. At $310 an hour as well, which is absolutely outrageous for the poor service provided. Choose Dr. Farber at your own risk.
One star is too many for Dr. Edward Farber. He clearly has no idea what “custody coordination” is. He seems to think a great deal not only of his therapy skills, but also of his legal skills. He is completely biased, smug, condescending, and rude. He has no ability to detect mental illness, or to deal with it appropriately. He will give you the opportunity of continuing to experience the negativity of your marriage - only you will pay for it.
