Not good – We had heard that the bbq here was excellent. We ordered a little of everything to get a sampling of their menu. The pork was extremely dry and was hard to swallow. The brisket was overcooked and the service wasn't the greatest. We asked for potato skins and were told they didn't have any. While we browsed the menu we noticed potato skins on the happy hour menu. Great barbeque joint! Good food at a good value. Approx $15 for 2 meats, 2 sides, 2 slices of toast, and heavenly cornbread muffin. It's not South Carolina, but it's as close as you're gonna get in Portland. Half the fun is the sauces, varying from sweet and tangy to dragonfire hot, all ready at the table to be sampled. What I expected – As far as what I want when I go to a BBQ place, Famous Dave's isn't anywhre close. I've never been until last two nights ago. I went with work. I ordered a full slab of ribs. You get a big portion allright. I will say that, but they simply weren't even close to being cooked properly. You can tell that low and slow isn't in their vocabulary. Best service! – The owner there is named Dave, and he's incredible. The Chips we ordered came out a little later than expected so we got a whole lb of BBQ brisket for free! what a guy, delicious stuff too. Highly recommend!

Famous Dave's gave me food poisoning – I ate here today with family and me and my mom are both sick. After I ate I had a sensation to throw up and trust me things are coming out both ways. I ate the "Sassy Salad" and if I might say I was trying to play it safe by getting a salad. This sucks. The service was just okay my waitress acted like she was too cool to be serving us. I do not recommend it. Food is overpriced and disgusting.

Love at first Bite! – I have to agree with others who recommended Famous Daves. I am crazy about smoked brisket and I have tried at least 5 or 6 other places recommended online and been super disappointed - until now! THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. I also had ribs and chicken with my meal and loved their sauces. Rich flavor, not too sweet with an "extra bold and spicy" option for those of us who like it HOT! I could eat this stuff everyday. I am going to ask my boyfriend to bring me to Famous Daves for my birthday next month!!!
