Visited Famous Dave's while enjoying a family weekend in the Dells. I loved everything about it. Called in my order for 8 people for take-out, the person taking my order was very pleasant and patient while taking my order. Once I arrived to pick up I received the same person who I spoke to on the phone. She directed me to the extra sauces, etc and gave me an extra bag to put plastic ware, napkins, extra BBQ sauce etc. in ... then she went over my order with me opening each container to verify the contents. One of the few places we all loved. Our little ones are extremely picky, but both had a hard time with portion control. We had a decent road trip to get to the Dells, so this was perfect to stop at before check in at The Wilderness Lodge!
I have been to FD many times before and the last two times (different restaurants) we have not been impressed. I had the Texas beef brisket and wife has the burnt ends and with ribs basket. The brisket was way too fatty and tender and was like eating pulled pork but with lots of fat in it. I lived in Texas for 10 yrs and brisket is firm but tender and just barely oulls apart and can be sliced. The wife's burnt ends were nothing but fat with a little meat and not really burnt.
