I purchased a home a year and a half ago, and Family heating and air installed a new system prior to the sale. I am also an HVAC technician. When I purchased the home, I didn't dive too deep into the system because it was new and I had much larger issues that I needed to resolve, but I finally got to dive in and this is what I found. WOMAN BEWARE! I hired them through my mother to do the ac for a house we’re building for my grandma and grandpa. These guys severely overcharged and screwed the entire system up and when we asked them to fix it, they not only said it wasn’t their problem but they again severely overcharged us to the point where I just said I’d do it myself. Not only did they cross ducts in the most ridiculous ways but they squeezed 15” ducts through 6” spaces which pretty much suffocated half the house. I had used Family Heating and Air a few times to service my AC's. Each time $500+. This last time, the unit had literally crumbled to the concrete so I needed a new unit. The gentleman that came out was very nice. He called his boss for a quote. The quote seemed reasonable until I started calling other companies. Family was about $2,500 above everyone else and (not to mention) I had already paid $500 for a quick service call that resulted in no AC. You have lost my business for good as well as any referrals. I had a brand new A/C installed by you last year and was told I needed a Hard Start Kit (at the tune of $185 plus labor). After calling both Lennox Manufacturing and two other companies for a second opinion, I was able to get someone to come out and they SHOWED me the meter, it is drawing 21 amps NOT 217.00 like your tech said on the first and second contract service.
