Family Birth Center Team, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the treatment my daughter and our family received during her recent stay at St. Michael Medical Center - Silverdale. The experience was far from what we expected during such a significant moment in our lives. From the outset, the staff's demeanor was concerning. I am so impressed with this birthing center. I cannot give enough positive feedback! I was medically induced at 39 weeks due to preeclampsia and it was NOT what I wanted. I was sent directly from my OB appointment to L&D for induction so I did not have much time to process. I already had so many fears about birth due to a medical condition I have and due to a past traumatic birth experience. Needless to say, the spontaneous induction added onto all of that. The nurses and midwives here are incredible! I felt so lucky to have a great team who were attentive to my birth plan and worked with me to navigate such an important moment. I had some postpartum complications and was so grateful to return to the birth center for great care during a tough time! They were accommodating to both me and baby returning and provided a lot of guidance and assistance.
They wouldn't let me or the rest of my 5 kids meet my daughter when she was born because I didn't have an ID with me. Obviously the mother expected me and wanted me there. First time out of the 5 kids that's happened. Just another of the hundreds of experiences that have given me a bad taste in my mouth about this county and its people. Avoid if possible.
Went in 23 weeks with excruciating pain, sweating, can’t walk, throwing up, can’t eat can’t hardly talk or breathe was throwing up blood day before, Front desk was very kind and got me back, nurse was awful, struggled to find the heartbeat, once found listed for maybe 5 seconds and was like yea idk ur symptoms aren’t OB related (HOW??) she wouldn’t let me talk to doctors just said nooo I think we are gonna transfer you to the ER, you can walk right?
