Second trip out here and couldn’t recommend it more in the fall. Quieter and yet so close to Lake Tahoe. Fall foliage is in full bloom with the yellow birches.
A small but wonderfully magical place.
First time to visit Fallen Leaf Lake for hiking toward Lily Lake. So lucky to see a bald eagle flying over the Fallen Leaf Lake and catch a fish. It's also my first time to see the wild bald eagle. The trail from Fallen Leaf Lake to Lily Lake is not difficult to hike and there's a small fall without much water in this season. The photos taken at both lakes are so beautiful and astonishing. Should come back to visit at different seasons.
