They are nice guys but something seemed like a scam. When i called to set up appointment he told me it would be 90.00 inspection fee. He went down with his other employee checked chimney only took 5 minutes, said it did not need to be cleaned. They come upstairs and he says i need a cap which i explained to him on the phone i needed. He said he charges 140.00 hour, but i would have to pay 70.00 to him for 30 mins and 70.00 to the other employer for 30 mins. Took him 15 mins to put cap on and charged me 542.00. Falcon's Nest is the absolute best. I bought my place 4 years ago. I hired Earl for a cleaning. While he was there I told him I was having trouble getting a fire going. He was very patient and showed me step by step what to do and also explained why he was doing what he was doing. After that I was always able to get a lovely big fire going. There was also a noise in the chimney, when there was no fire. He fixed two things and I never heard the noise again. He also told me the parts were good for 20 years. Best chimney sweep in the Quad cities area hands down. Will always use him for all of my chimney needs!
Earl and son looked at all four of my fireplaces. Only one needed cleaning, so they only billed me for that one. They found a potential fire hazard where creosote could accumulate between the flue tile and interior wall. Glad I called!
