This team was a lifesaver for us. Our original mortgage company completely dropped the ball two days before closing and left us scrambling. This is the worse experience I have ever had with a mortgage lender. They issued a pre-approval letter knowing that I am separated. A few days before closing on the house, they requested my soon to be ex-wife to sign the loan due to state law. Why would I want her to be involved with the purchase. They asked for another co-signer. I removed my name from the loan and replaced with a relative name. Loan was not approved. Then a few days later, they came back and said they approved the loan. Requiring unreasonably high down payment and who knows they will keep requiring more before closing. This defeats the purpose of their loan.
If you don’t have Diane and especially Rita on your home buying team then you have made a huge mistake. I have never had anyone work so hard for me, not just to earn my business but to actually work for me by making sure I take full advantage of any grants available and figuring out payments on about 18 houses that I send them and just to ask “can I afford this”. I don't recommend. My experience was fraught with communication problems, unexplained delays, having to reapply when action was not taken on my loan...it was a disaster. In the end, I had to walk away from the home purchase because the closing didn't happen, again. Apparently I still hadn't been approved. My lease is up and I have to renew it or have nowhere to live. In the end, I am left with nothing but excuses. Both the sellers and I were strung along, and nobody deserves that. Go to a real bank.
