The Fairfield surgical center is so poorly run I will never go back. This is no reflection on the physician as my physician was excellent. I was told to arrive at 2:15 PM. I was taken into surgery after 5:30 PM. No updates regarding the delay were given to me or to my spouse. My spouse was not permitted to come in with me so he was sitting in the waiting room not knowing what was going on. At 5 o'clock I finally broke into tears and they went and got him. Choose another place to get your surgery done. These folks are just cogs in a broken healthcare wheel that do not care about their patient's anxieties or comfort.
I would give both the Surgery Center of Fairfield for a colonoscopy experience and also the billing department there "Zero Stars" if possible. My husband went in for a regular colonoscopy back in December 2024 which should have been 100 percent covered by our insurance. He had a wretched experience, woke up with cuts in his throat from aggressive suctioning during the procedure, and we had a hard time getting anyone to explain to us what had happened. Worst experience ever. Had a 9am appointment. Was there until 2:30. I had to sit out in a public atrium, with no where comfortable to sit, even though the surgery center had a nice waiting room. They don’t allow family or friends of the patient to wait there. Not one person updated me throughout the procedure. And then I get a phone call. “You can come pick your patient up at the front door of the building. Just drive your car around.” I asked how the surgery went, and what the discharge instructions were.
