I was worried before arrival because of the negative reviews, but my experience was very positive. The staff at check-in was extremely kind. Due to the blizzard and staff shortages, early check-in was difficult, but they did their best to accommodate me as quickly as possible. The room was clean and comfortable, with good water pressure. After learning that snow was coming in, we needed to extend our stay in NYC, but the hotel we had been staying at was sold out. They assisted us in finding availability at this Fairfield Inn, and we arrived just as the snow began to fall. From the 18th floor, the view as the snow came in was beautiful. Arrived for check-in. Was told room was not ready and had option to only take handicap room. We were stuck for time for a 5:00 show so we said fine and upon entering room blind curtain hanging broken, floor dirty not vacuumed. Beds about two feet off ground and no dresser for clothing, no luggage rack etc. We called Marriott downstairs and was directed to main line and told we would be moved and receive a 50% off room rate. The hotel is generally good, in terms of its category. The only problem for me is the heating that is very old, very noisy even when turned off in the room and not very effective. The breakfast is very good and the personal very helpfull.
