I mistakenly deposited a check which clearly stated on the front that it was VOID due to passing a deadline. My bad. Nonetheless, Fairfield Bank cleared it as OK for deposit, then hit me with a $25 fee for the returned check. I called their “customer service” line, and after several frustrating minutes I actually got to speak to a supervisor.
