This office is unbelievable. My son came in to get a cast on his arm for handmaid‘s elbow. He was told that he would get his cast off in seven days on the way there. There was a car accident in front of us and we were gonna be about 15 minutes late. I was told by the front office that we could show up but if it was more than 15 minutes, they were gonna turn us away after a 40 minute drive. Steer clear of this IRRESPONSIBLE and callous office. I confirmed an appointment for my child to be seen by Dr. Berkowitz following an ER visit. Details were shared and I was asked to bring x-rays. Upon arriving at my scheduled time, the Doctor refused service. I was initially told my insurance claim would be denied because my son needed to see the same ER doctor. Dr. Berkowitz came highly recommended, but his office staff was not interested in helping. Quick explanation: 2.5 year old son got a fish hook in his foot, and it couldn’t be fully removed in the rural ER we visited, so we were told we would need to see an orthopedic specialist. I called and explained the situation. I simply wanted to schedule an appointment knowing it could be a few weeks out, the stitches would be removed by then, and an x ray can show any development in the fishhook that remained. I’m 21 now, but when I was 14, I had surgery to place nails just below my knee, performed by Dr. Ezra Berkowitz. As a nervous teenager, I really appreciated how friendly and reassuring he was throughout the entire process. He clearly explained the surgery beforehand and as a 14 year old at the time I understood every step of the way.
