I have Medicare that pays for the exam because I am diabetic. I asked if I would have to pay anything for the exam. I was told that if they done a regular exam I would owe nothing but If the Dr done anything more I would owe $35.00. The exam went well & the Dr didn't do anything else as far as I could tell. No drops in my eyes, no other equipment, just a usual exam. So I thought I would owe nothing. OH NO! To put it simply I feel cheated. Dr. Fast has been my Dr for as long as I can remember. Since I was a kid. My insurance only pays for an exam every two years and that has always worked in the past. Until now. Now my prescription is only good for a year and they won't renew it for me without another exam. Now I have to fork over almost $300(including the cost of the actual contacts) that I really can't afford just to be able to see until next year.
