Perfectly smoked ribs, not over cooked like so many other BBQ places. Solid sauces. Brisket was excellent. I also judge joints by slaw and baked beans. Slaw was good but beans were not my favorite.
Very good BBQ! We really enjoyed the homemade desserts!
I have loved Extra Billy's for over 20 years. I'm so happy to be able to introduce my father to the place with his recent move to Richmond.
They don't cook with sassafras, they use hickory, which is ok. But it is smoked. And they have Carolina vinegar sauce, so that's another star. What impressed me was the Mgr was open & willing to seek out Narcan to have on hand in case there is an overdose. Most employers stick their head in the sand. Addicts are not going to come out & tell you of their problem. So, we all need to be ready to save the life of someone's child or parent. The worst service ever! Sat down at the bar and was ignored ... waited for a bartender to finally show up and then had to wait while he printed out 5 tabs, delivered them and then processed the payments in multiple trips. He did fill bar orders for a couple of servers during that time. After 15 minutes, we got up and left.
