The staff was rude and seemed annoyed that we were there. Hotel is under construction so pool was not available. The whole place smelled like sewage, and then to top it off there was no hot water!! Called front desk to let them know and they said they were aware and it wouldn’t be fixed during our stay! So they knew but did not let their guests know and still took our money. I have stayed in a lot of Hotels in my time. This place was probably hands down one of the worse places I've stayed. First off the staff were rude and very unprofessional. We got there after a five hour drive and all I wanted to do was catch my breath and hop in the pool. The pool was pretty much the deciding factor in us reserving the room. Relocated from IL for a job in San Rafael. Staying here while apartment hunting. Nothing was explained upon check-in — I got handed a tiny fold out paper with my keycards. No carpet in rooms along with thin floors/ceilings make for hearing every step as someone walks. Thin walls mean you can hear the TV in the next room. Door slam very loudly but some guests are polite and don’t allow them to slam closed. If your room faces the freeway, you’ll hear traffic. Parking lot and grounds are littered with cigarette butts.
