Had an excellent experience here at the extended hours. Didn’t wait, was escorted in a room right away, the nurse and doctor on were very friendly and listened to my concerns. Bloodwork and xray done right away and results came back that evening. Was in and out within a hour.
I booked an appointment online, drove from St. Vital to the Vic, saw a service provider, got an x-ray and was home in just over one hour. Maureen was amazing! So kind, patient and knowledgeable. The receptionist was great and even the two security officers were kind and helpful. Props to Wab Kinew. My mom died in the Pallister medical system and it was a horrible and traumatic experience on multiple levels. Doctor was dismissive towards me, did not ask what I had already done to help, and didn’t ask about any medical history to see my risk factors. She compared my situation to her own even though we are two very different demographics. Her suggestion was take advil for back pain (which I did all week) and to stop eating chocolate to help my skin (i’m dairy free and dislike chocolate). Told me to ask my family doctor follow up questions, except I don’t live in the town I grew up in so I don’t have access to my family doctor.
The staff at the front desk were kind and nice to deal with but the Dr. (Don’t know her name because she never introduced herself) was an older lady, and she completely dismissed our concerns regarding a possible concussion of my child. She said she does not have a concussion and when we questioned her on what we would expect to be abnormal in her exam she jumped up and said “you’re testing me, you can follow up with family Dr or go to the urgent care and wait there”.
