Taken here against my will after doing a "self detox" off of subs, and other substances. Culver City PD and Culver City Fire Dept transported me here. I was supposed to be on a 72 hour hold, but after speaking with me for only 8 hours they deemed that I was not a danger to myself or others and furthermore found out I am a highly educated individual. This place is awful! Avoid it at all costs! These places exist on the fringes of the medical care world and basically just want people to get in and out. My son was brought there on a 5150 for a 72 hour hold because he was a danger to himself and others, he has anorexia and he was in a delusional and paranoid state. The doctor who did rounds the first day my son was there released him after 24 hours without getting a single word of my son’s background and the previous month that had led him to the 5150. There are a handful of people that are sympathetic and patient. I am thankful to them. They are unfortunately operating in a system that seemingly does not hold those values. It’s clear this place doesn’t care about patients’ mental state. Workers come to get paid, and clients are just cattle to be herded. They have you sign papers that tell you your “rights” only to tell you later that the papers are just given to them by the county, and that you have no rights. It is just a softer jail.
