Be prepared to get shuffled in and out of different rooms, fill out two dozen sheets of paper with the same questions, deal with incompetence and inappropriate questions, listen to staff gossip about patients and not talk to any social worker whatsoever. They’ll push pills on you regardless of your situation. This is a glorified prison, gray walls, recliner chairs, no soap in bathrooms, no communication as to when you’re leaving or what’s going on. If you want actual treatment, go anywhere but here.

Meh. It’s somewhere to go if you are in a crisis and need a holding pen for 8-24 hours. This place is basically an evaluation center for if you’re ok to go home or if you absolutely must to go to the hospital. It’s better than nothing at all but if you are coming in for SI and have intention of acting, just go to the hospital down the road. The staff are all there to help. While it may take a while to be seen, it's still a fast way to get seen by a doctor without an appointment.
