I have been a patient here for almost 20 years, and I have been very pleased overall with how they do things, and how they treat me.

The doctors and providers at this center are very kind and knowledgeable. However, I’ve experienced repeated negative interactions with the nurses and the lady who drew my blood. I have had to correct the nurses about my treatment plan time and time again. We saw providers at the fertility center for 8 consecutive months with many many treatment cycles. They were not able to help us achieve a successful pregnancy or find a cause for our losses or struggle to conceive. We spent a lot of money to be jerked around. We’ll no lon... read more

I reviewed my doctor, Eric Newman a few years ago. This review is for the practice since Penn State Health, St. Joseph bought Healthways. Having a stroke means that a patient is even more dependent on doctors and their practices. Unexpected changes are stressful, and stroke survivors do not need stress; hypertension is the primary cause of stroke and TIAs (mini strokes). Taking two of my BP meds a day caused me to run out before I expected. When I call Healthways, the prescription refill line recording said I may have to wai... read more

Do not go to Saint Joseph Medical Center emergency room. The inept, uncaring and rude staff are too busy taking care of themselves to take care of patients, leaving the latter to wait and wait and wait, increasing the patient's trauma and not administering to his or her needs, It is almost as if the nurses and doctors forgot about the human being in one of their rooms down the hall. Yet when it is time to have the patient pay, they are quick and unrelenting, no matter how poor a job they did. The Catholic identity and princi... read more

I called them to renew a prescription that had run out. They would charge me $10.00 extra if I renewed via phone. So I had to open an account on "Follow My Health," which I was loathe to do, but it was the only way to get out of the $10.00 fee (which incidentally is more than the actual prescription!). What a scam. Now everyone in India has all of my vital information.

Very disappointed with this organization. First of all, they moved and I was never notified though my address has not changed for the past four years. My phone and email still work also. Found out today when I went for my afternoon appointment via a note on the door. I arrived at the old location 30 minutes early. Once I read the new location off the door, I plugged it into my GPS but that had me driving around in circles. I then called the office but they put me on hold so I parked the car and started to walk and asked the ... read more

I have been using this place as our family dr for about 7 years, now and I have never, ever had a single problem with them, at all. The staff are always very polite and friendly, and interact with my children and remember us all by name even if we aren't there for our own appointment. They always have a smile and I have never experienced any bad customer service like the previous poster. My dr is delightful and the rooms are always clean and the amount of waiting time has always been minumal. If we've been really sick they'v... read more
