Chris is the absolute greatest. He is a master in the art form of martial arts. His unique perspective allows him to teach in an incredible way no one else can. He is patient and willing to listen. However, he also knows his subject well and knows when to be concrete in his words. At times he is passionate, at times a little tired, at times very serious, or at times laughing with you. He is a teacher and if you get to know him long enough, a friend.

Master Garland is a phenomenal teacher, and the most gifted martial artist I've ever known. Not only for adults, but for children as well. His patience and ability with neurodivergent children is absolutely legendary.

My son James has been working with Chris for a few months now. James is a 5 year old autistic brilliant boy. Through Chris’ compassion, empathy, and discipline. Mr. Garland has been an excellent teacher, for myself and my son. We both participate in group and private lessons. His trainings combine real-world applications of physical, mental and spiritual preparedness. Discipline is provided through a keen sense of empathy and patience for his students.
