Amazing experience!! Sancia and Bridgette were excellent guides and I had so much fun! I would recommend this to anyone traveling to San Diego or interested in kayaking/snorkeling in La Jolla!
You can rent a kayak and kayak yourself if you're not going to go into the caves. You have to do a guided kayak tour and snorkel experience if you want to go into the caves. I was happy to pay the extra money to be able to enjoy the experience but we did not get to go into the caves at all nor was I notified that I wasn't going to get to go into the caves. It is a difficult kayak trip, you start out on the beach then get pushed off and you kayak out for a little and take a small break, so if your not physically able to row for a period of time, this is not for you, seen 2 different types of fish and that was it, was with another customer in a 2 sitter and he tipped us twice, that makes it extremely difficult to get back into kayak in the middle of ocean, thats where if not strong it will be very difficult to get back in,.

I have to say I have done this kayak tour twice and each time it has been a blast. I will definitely do it again.
